The Tasting Sessions is a collaboration between two Australians who live in London, Angella Newell and Hayley Sudbury. Unsurprisingly these two were connected through their love of great food, wine and conversation.
Come on a journey with us as we answer questions like “Which organic wines actually taste great?”, “can you really grow grapes without water?” and “how does a Scorpion make vodka?”
Hayley Sudbury
Instead of drinking beer at university, Hayley discovered wine using the budgeted food money to buy cases of the best available Australian wine with her flat mate Liz. If they had not drunk all the wine at the time, Liz and Hayley would actually have an impressive wine cellar.
Graduating with a taste for good Australian wines and a business degree, Hayley has spent the last ten years leading operations and product areas for Global Banks and professional services in Australia and London. Hayley hopes to apply all of these skills to her own vineyard, “Sudbury Estate” in years to come.
My name is Angella Newell and I am a cheese-a-holic
Working out at an early age that cheese went far better with wine than did chocolate, Angella made the switch. This was the beginning of a lifetime of epicurean adventures, the latest giving rise to The Tasting Sessions. Along with Hayley, she has future designs on a lovely little vineyard somewhere, matching fabulous wines with the gorgeous cheeses from its very own dairy.
Angella has spent the last 14 years working in Marketing and Communications. She now runs a successful digital communications consultancy in London.
