The Tasting Sessions is a cultural event platform that profiles food and drink brands who are wildly innovative or independent boutique upstarts that are making a name for themselves. We also showcase established and emerging talent from immersive theatre companies to contemporary artists, musicians and designers who want to show the world what they do. We bring all this together in our tasting events, experiences, suppers and festivals.
The founders Angella Newell and Hayley Sudbury are gastronomic adventurers and entrepreneurs who love to push boundaries.
With a personal mission to change the way people, taste, learn and connect in urban environments The Tasting Sessions have worked with leading and emerging chefs, mixologists, artists and musicians to create bespoke experiences centered around food and drink.
In December 2009 The Tasting Sessions launched a new movement in food and drink festivals in London. Held in a secret warehouse in Dalston (known only by photographers and filmmakers), guests were taken “Towards a Fluid State“. Growing to a 4 day extravaganza the next year, A Fluid State was described as a “culinary orgasm” by the editor of Wired Magazine UK.
The Tasting Sessions has been profiled by leading trend company PSFK as one to watch and written up in many of London’s underground guides such as The Londonist, Urban Junkies and lecool amongst others.
